WLS Admin Console Raises "Security Warnings Detected" After Creating Logical Links to Store Log Files (Doc ID 3009608.1)

Symptoms

Consider a scenario where a host machine's operating system is mounted to two or more storage devices (such as hard drive, network share, etc).  To conserve storage space on the host machine, it is desirable to store log files generated during the runtime of the WLS AdminServer and Managed Servers on the mounted storage devices instead of on the host machine.

A logical link (also called a symbolic link or symlink) is created such that a sub-directory within the directory tree of <DOMAIN_HOME> points to a remote directory on one of the mounted storage devices. 

After creating a logical link, the WebLogic Server (WLS) Administration Console displays the following security warning in the Security Warnings Report:
