Unable To Receive Response In OSB From External REST Service When Using Delete Method (Doc ID 3011950.1)

Symptoms

An OSB business service is configured to invoke an external REST service that has implemented DELETE method.
When using DELETE verb for calling the REST API the following error is logged by OSB server and the response received from the service cannot be processed:
