Application Deployment from JDeveloper to Integrated WebLogic Server Never Completes (Doc ID 3012052.1)

Last updated on MARCH 22, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

It may happen that the JDeveloper IDE never completes a deployment of even a simple application to the Integrated WebLogic Server, which is really unexpected as it is a local WebLogic Server Domain fully integrated with JDeveloper.

One of the symptoms that can be noted is the following progress bar at the bottom right corner of the IDE that keeps spinning and that never disappears.

Clicking on the progress bar, the details will show that there are actually two pending activities with the Integrated WebLogic Server: one is the server startup, the other is the application deployment, like in the screenshot here below.

To be noted that the Integrated WebLogic Server is up and running, as can be seen from the console logs in JDeveloper and as can be verified from accessing the WebLogic administration console at

http://127.0.0.1:[PORT]/console

where [PORT] is the port chosen at Integrated WebLogic Domain creation time.

This will make this issue even more complex to understand, as the server is up and running in the localhost, but the IDE seems not able to communicate with it.

Another symptom to be noted is that none of those pending activities will ever end.
