Last updated on MAY 29, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Access Manager - Version 12.2.1.4.231005 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You are using OAM 12c Federation to access two applications on two Chrome tabs.

Chrome Tab 1 - accessing App1
Chrome Tab 2 - accessing App2

Below is the scenario flow:

  1. Navigate to App1 URL http://HOST1:PORT1/fedlet/ on Chrome Tab 1
  2. Click on the Run Fedlet (SP) initiated Single Sign-On using HTTP POST binding
  3. Select drop-down item "ONE ID"; click Continue
  4. Enter a valid account with correct credential; click "Log In"
  5. Navigate to App2 URL http://HOST1:PORT2/fedlet/ on Chrome Tab 2
  6. Click on the Run Fedlet (SP) initiated Single Sign-On using HTTP POST binding
  7. Select drop-down item "ONE ID"; click Continue (User bypasses the login process; Dialog message displayed to the user - "We noticed you started logging in on another tab (or window).Go back to that tab and finish logging in there, then return to this tab and Continue to open a service. If you started to log in on another tab but closed it before you completed the two-factor authentication, please Log out and start over.")
  8. Go to browser Tab 1, select the phone to be texted by "ONE ID"; click Next
  9. Fill-in the six boxes with the valid 6-digit verification code found on mobile phone; uncheck the "Remember this device" option; click Verify to complete the sign in
  10. Go to browser Tab 2, click Continue

There are two issues observed:

  1. After Step 9, it should load App1 , not App 2. Why OAM loaded App1 instead of App2?
  2. After Step 10, System triggered "Unexpected Error. he system has encountered a problem and could not process your request. You may wish to try your request again". User should be redirected to the App2.
