Regarding Idle Count Thread Being Equal to Zero (Doc ID 3030840.1)

Last updated on JUNE 28, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

An idle thread count getting to zero could indicate issues with response times. Logs will have an entry like:

The thread pool is responsible for allocating threads to do the work in WLS after requests have been dispatched by the muxer threads. By default WLS uses a self tuning pool that generally works well for a variety of work loads but under constant, heavy load, it can sometimes be more efficient to tune the thread pool size to better match the core count of the server.
