Symptoms

 OUD 12c 12.2.1.4 Silent Install fails using below flow.

1. Following the silent upgrade steps per below documentation.

       Release 12.2.1.4
       Installing Oracle Unified Directory

       2 Installing the Oracle Unified Directory Software

        2.9 Performing an Oracle Unified Directory Silent Installation

2. During the below step facing the issue which fails with below error.

Run the following command to perform the silent installation:

Command:

>java –jar distribution_name.jar –silent –responseFile file –invPtrLoc file

For example, to install the Oracle Unified Directory, run the following command: Below example is from above public document link.

  /u01/oracle/jdk/jdk1.8.0_191/bin/java –jar <PATH TO >/fmw_12.2.1.4.0_oud.jar –silent –responseFile /u01/oracle/response/install.rsp –invPtrLoc /u01/oracle/oraInst.loc

3. Sample Error at command Prompt: (NOTE: The same error can be seen in the install log at /tmp/OraInstall<timestamp>)
