Importing Security Data into the WebLogic Credential Mapping Provider Gives "[Security:099057]Could not decrypt password" Error (Doc ID 3044054.1)

Symptoms

While importing the Default Credential Mapper data from one WebLogic Server version to another, the following error occurs..

 

Changes

The error came up during migration from WebLogic Server 10.3.6 to 12.1.1

The export step in WLS 10.3.6 created the DefaultCredentialMapper.dat file 

PATH: WLS Admin Console 10.3.6 >Summary of Security Realms >myrealm >Providers >DefaultCredentialMapper > Migration > Export

While importing this DefaultCredentialMapper.dat file into WebLogic Server 12.1.1 Security Realm DefaultCredentialMapper, it gives a 'Could not decrypt password' error

PATH: WLS Admin Console 12.1.1 >Summary of Security Realms >myrealm >Providers >DefaultCredentialMapper > Migration > Import
