Users Accessing ODI Studio Are Unable to Simultaneously Modify a Mapping and Recreating the New Mapping Results in Error: 'No object could be dropped on the diagram possibly because the chosen technologies in the "Create As" dialog were incorrect.' (Doc ID 3048941.1)

Symptoms

When there are two Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Studios connecting to the same repository this sequence of events results in the following error trying to create a new mapping.

Step 1: Launch ODI Studio (Instance 1) and connect to the repository.

Step 2: Create a New Mapping with Create Default dataset checked in ODI Studio (Instance 1).
           Leave mapping window open. (It is essentially empty, as nothing other than the Default dataset component is added to mapping yet.)

Step 3: Launch ODI Studio (Instance 2) connect to same repository.

Step 4: On ODI (Instance 1) Drag&Drop Data Store table from model to already opened mapping (step2) window white space.
           Note: When dragging the table into the default dataset nothing seems to happen, and the dragged table is not seen.

Step 5. Get the following message popup:
