Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.0 DCM Fails With ADM-100992 After Applying 10.1.0.4 Patch Set (Doc ID 309543.1)

Symptoms

There is an XDK / DCM compatibility problem with the newer XDK that is introduced 
when installing the Oracle Database 10g release 10.1.0.4 patch set (Patch 4163362) in 
an Oracle Application Server version 10.1.2.0.0 home.

If you apply the Oracle Database 10g release 10.1.0.4 patch set, DCM will fail 
with an ADM-100992 error. To prevent this from occurring, you must apply 
Patch 4186531 to the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.0 installation.

DCM will fail with either of the following 2 errors:
