Tuning An Active Directory OID DIP Synchronization Profile - Catch Up Changes When Down For A While (Doc ID 312691.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 10.1.2.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This document explains how to tune a Oracle Internet Directory (OID) Directory Integration Platform (DIP) synchronization profile's SearchDeltaSize parameter for the "catch up" profile.

Scope

The default SearchDeltaSize is set to 500. When a profile has been disabled or DIP/odisrv process has been stopped for a while, This default setting may not be sufficient to allow the profile to "catch up" to the HighestCommittedUSN changed value, .e.g..the last applied change number (lacn) stored in the profile is substantially lower than the HighestCommittedUSN in Active Directory (AD).

This procedure can also be used in lieu of bootstrapping all entries or missing entries when you do npot wish to take down DIP/odisrv. In this case you MUST derive the LOWEST USNChanged value with the Active Directory as a starting point.

Note: This procedure is primarily for Active Directory DIP Synch connectors due to the manner in which changes are retrieved/stored in Active Directory. It does not apply to synchronization with directories which uses change log records.
