Good Report Now Fails With Errors REP-1401 And ORA-06502 PL/SQL: numeric or value error (Doc ID 344875.1)

This problem can occur on any platform.


Symptoms

Launching a report that worked before using your present report server now  fails with:

REP-1401: beforereport Fatal PL/SQL error occurred
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error

 

 

Note:  The REP-1401 may mention another location than beforereport.

Changes

The report server is now using a multibyte character set, i.e., UTF8.
