How to Change the JAVA Version used to run a Specific OC4J Instance (Doc ID 351476.1)

Last updated on APRIL 19, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Containers for J2EE - Version 10.1.2.0.1 to 10.1.3.5.0 [Release AS10gR2 to AS10gR3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document describes how to configure the Oracle Application Server 10g
(10.1.2 and 10.1.3) Process Manager (OPMN) to start an OC4J instance using
a specific version of Java other than the JSDK version installed with the product.
The document shows how the Java version used for a specific OC4J instance
can be changed using the Application Server Control web application or by
manually editing the opmn.xml file.

Though examples provided within the document are given for a UNIX environment,
steps are sufficiently generic that they can be equally applied to an
Application Server installation on the Windows platform.
