Symptoms

Loss of functionality

An application is being migrated from Forms 6.0.8.x Client/Server to Forms 10.1.2.x web deployment. In the application TIFF or GIF images are being displayed in an Image type item. The images are of very high resolution, more than 8 Megapixels and with a size of betwen 100-200 KBytes. As of the current status these image files are being read from a network drive using the CLIENT_IMAGE.READ_IMAGE_FILE Forms built-in. It has been determined that displaying images takes a very long time (between 45 seconds and 1 1/2 minutes) which is not acceptable.
