Symptoms

Using DirSync profile for Microsoft (MS) Active Directory (AD) to Oracle Internet Directory (OID).

Updating the last change number with manageSyncProfiles fails with:

$ manageSyncProfiles updatechgnum -h <hostname> -p <port> -D <username> -pf <profilename>
[<username> user password]
Connection parameters initialized.
Connecting at <hostname>:<port>, with userid "<username>"..
Connected successfully.

[LDAP: error code 12 - 00000057: LdapErr: DSID-0C090AB0, comment: Error processing control, data 0, v3839]

Or:

[LDAP: error code 12 - 00000057: LdapErr: DSID-0C090B19, comment: Error processing control, data 0, v4563 ]

And the profile cannot be enabled.

 

In earlier OID versions, e.g. 10g, a DirSync type synchronization profile fails with DIP_GEN_SEARCH_EXCEPTION: Error processing Control.........OperationNotSupportedException.

The profile debug trace shows:
