Symptoms
Opatch version 1.0.0.0.55 fails due to archive failures when applying patch on Solaris 10.
The opatch log file shows errors of the following form:
Archive failed: failed to update "$ORACLE_HOME/lib/libn10.a"
with updated "/export/home/oradba/pnnnnnnn/nnnnnnn/files/lib/libn10.a/nsdo.o"
Archive failed: failed to update "$ORACLE_HOME/lib/libn10.a"
with updated "/export/home/oradba/pnnnnnnn/nnnnnnn/files/lib/libn10.a/nsio.o"
Archive failed: failed to update "$ORACLE_HOME/lib/libn10.a"
with updated "/export/home/oradba/pnnnnnnn/nnnnnnn/files/lib/libn10.a/nzdacval.o"
