Accessing JAZN LDAP SSO Protected Application Fails with "failed to get mod_osso global context" Error (Doc ID 416368.1)

Symptoms

J2EE application is protected using JAZN provider LDAP and auth-method SSO.

Accessing application fails with HTTP 500 Internal Server Error

The HTTP server's error_log has the following error

[error] [client <IP>] [ecid: 1172058659:<IP>:17325:0:111,0] mod_oc4j: Response
status=499 and reason=Oracle SSO, but failed to get mod_osso global context.
[error] [client <IP>] [ecid: 117 mod_oc4j: request to OC4J <HOST.DOMAIN>:12501
failed: unknown
