Cannot Use LogFormat Option %O in the Oracle HTTP Server Installed with Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4, 10.1.2, 10.1.3)

Adding %O (for the "logio" feature) to a LogFormat directive is not accepted.

When doing:
dcmctl updateconfig -v

the following error is returned:
An exception occurred in the "apache" plugin provided by the "OHS" component while validating configuration files for that component.
The resolution information provided by the "OHS" component may be helpful.
In addition, here are some common causes of problems:
        incorrect permissions on files
        configuration files are missing or invalid
        syntax error in configuration files
Exception thrown by plugin "apache":
. Check line 671 in file  c:/oracle/as101202/apache/apache/conf/httpd.conf.ohsplugintmp:.
Please make sure that the value above is correct.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Edit httpd.conf
2. Add "%O" to one of the LogFormat directives
3. Do "apache.exe -t" or "apachectl configtest". And receive:
Syntax error on line 671 of c:/oracle/as101202/apache/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Unrecognized LogFormat directive %O
