ODI User Defined Functions and ODI Substitution Methods (Doc ID 423700.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 24, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 3.2.02.01 and later
Oracle Data Integrator on Marketplace - Version 1.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

  1. May ODI substitution methods be used from ODI User Defined Function implementations and for which technology?
  2. What is the best way to call the ODI Substitution Method from a User Defined Function?

For example, an implementation of an ODI User Defined Function containing an ODI Substitution Method has been developed.

When running an Integration Interface that uses this User Defined Function, it is correctly substituted but the Substitution Method is not.

The implementation is defined as follows :

In older ODI versions (v3 and v4) the old snpRef... code was used instead of the actual odiRef... implementation. This is no problem for ODI and can be used without any problems, but for new implementations we prefer to use the new code line odiRef... to be clean.
