The article applies to all releases of ODI like the current 12C as well as to previous releases.

Goal

Bracket characters, '[' and ']', used in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) user functions are cleared when executing the function.

When an user function is substituted during code generation, any string enclosed within [ ] (inclusive) is not generated.
