Inserting Data into Oracle XMLTYPE Fields with ODI (Doc ID 424120.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 3.2.03.01 and later
Oracle Data Integrator on Marketplace - Version 1.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

It appears that XMLTYPE is not a standard datatype and does not appear to be reverse engineered by Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) using the Oracle JDBC Driver.

In fact, when reverse engineering a table containing an XMLTYPE field, an Undefined Datatype is specified in the ODI Datastore Column Definition tab.
