"Inserted value too large for column" Message With ODI (Doc ID 424698.1)

Symptoms

When launching a Scenario from the 'startscen.bat(.sh)' script with a long set of parameters including ODI Variables and value declarations, it appears that the Scenario is not executed and the ODI  Journal displays neither the Session start event, nor any error message.

When the same Scenario is executed through the 'startscen.bat(.sh)' command and the standard output is redirected into a file (startscen ... > myOutput.txt), the contents of this file indicates the following java.sql.SQLException :


The same problem may be signaled when the Scenario is executed through the 'SnpsStartScen' tool.
