Purpose
Starting with the next Critical Patch Update (CPU) for 10.2.0.3 the GLOBAL Login File will be supported on z/OS. This was requested in Enhancement Request Bug 6026963 ENH: SITE PROFILE (GLOGIN.SQL) SUPPORT UNDER BATCH AND TSO (POSIX OFF).
The Global Login File is also known as the site profile and can contain environment variables or any content that can be included in a SQL*Plus script, such as system variable settings or other global settings. The Site Profile enables the DBA to set up SQL*Plus environment defaults for all users of SQLPLUS. The default site profile is $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin/glogin.sql on USS and for SQLPLUS run in Batch or TSO it is defined to be //'SYS1.ORACLE.GLOGIN.SQL' by default.
For more information on how the Site Profile behaves generically please refer to
