Purpose

The Content Server can parse and format dates using a wide variety of date formatting patterns.  What are the possible patterns and what are some of the subtle issues with date formatting and parsing?

Scope

The Content Server is designed for user entry of dates in formats specific to many different locales. It also handles dates that are required by the content server when communicating with the many different third party applications (database, search engine, SOAP, mail, etc.).
