Information in this document applies to any platform.
Product: Content Server
Version: 7.6

Symptoms

You've installed the LDAP Component on a 7.51 content server running on AIX.

Your LDAP cn's (common name or userid) are 7 alphanumeric characters, such as AAA111. In the LDAP tree, and your fully qualified name would be AAA111/ users/company or cn=AAA111,ou=users,o=company.

When you go into the Providers status page, your LDAP provider has a connection state of 5 out of 5 connections are good.

The problem is that when you click on the login button and try to authenticate, it always fails.  You've tried the following as the user name:

AAA111
aaa111
aaa111/users/company
cn=aaa111
cn=aaa111,ou=users,o=company

You normally get the following error message after 3 attempts:
Content Server Authorization Failed
Unable to authenticate access to Content Server managed resource.
