Pagemaker and ActiveX Issue (Doc ID 450611.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 07, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Product: Inbound Refinery
Version: 6.0

Symptoms

When attempting to refine a Pagemaker 6.5 document the following error occurs:

Info 11/21/06 9:19 AM Starting to convert: Input File = 'F:/fv/vault/webproject/415195.p65' Output File = 'F:/fv/weblayout/groups/admin/documents/webproject/c_300857~1.p65' Conversion Type = 'InDesign' Content ID = 'c_300857' Title = 'PageMaker Test'
Info 11/21/06 9:19 AM Started InDesignToPDF step.
Error 11/21/06 9:19 AM drNativeGeneralError;ActiveX component can't create object
Finished InDesign step
Writing step results

Info 11/21/06 9:19 AM Step InDesignToPDF completed.

We upgraded Content Server from 7.1 to 7.5.1. Inbound Refinery & PDF Converter were also upgraded to 7.5.1. It would seem that from the time of upgrade 10/19 the PDF Converter will not generate a PDF and passes through with the following conversion error:

Could not convert.
Inbound Refinery failed to convert the content item but released it to the web by copying the native file.

This error is consistent whether I am using 'InDesign' to convert or 'PageMaker'. Is it also consistent with the issue of the PageMaker product and the PDF Converter product being installed under different usernames? Or, as implied/stated in the Administrator guide, I need to install the InDesign product to convert PageMaker?
