Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide some knowledge and reference on the principal Web Cache and Portal integration concepts, and also provide some basic instructions for configuration.

OracleAS Web Cache is required for running OracleAS Portal and offers intelligent caching, page assembly, and compression features, accelerating the delivery of both static and dynamic Web content, in addition to providing load balancing and failover features.

Scope

This note is intended for anyone interested in main Portal and Web Cache integration concepts.
