How To Verify if OWB is Installed Correctly on RAC and Exadata (Doc ID 455999.1)

Last updated on JULY 05, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Warehouse Builder - Version 10.1 to 11.2.0.4 [Release 10.1 to 11.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This note helps to verify the installation of OWB on RAC or Exadata.

When this note refers to RAC, the same applies to Exadata.

In a correct RAC installation, all nodes in the RAC should be able to run the Control Center Service (Runtime Service). This is to make sure that the the Control Center Service stays available in case one of the RAC node goes down.

For the configuration of OWB on RAC, two tables are populated (owbrtps and wb_rt_service_nodes). In this node we explain how these tables should look like, and also we will simulate a node switch, to see if all the nodes are able to take over the execution of the Control Center Service.
