How to Add Missing objectclass to Multiple OID Entries (Doc ID 457127.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 10.1.2 to 11.1.1 [Release 10gR2 to 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

*NOTE*
As with all procedures that modify your entries - use at your own risk.
Be sure to have good backups ready.
This procedure may not work with internationalized group names.
Suggest performing on a test or development system first.

In this note we will see one way to effectively add an objectclass to multiple entries.

For our example we will add the objectclass "Top" to groups that were syncronized from a third party directory server.  Note: the commands used to sort and modify the list requires unix or a suitable unix emulator if running on MS Windows platform.
