Goal

By default, Web Cache is installed as part of a OracleAS Middletier installation. Often, Web Cache needs to be reconfigured, or moved, to another machine. This can be due to architecture or security requirements. In doing so, Web Cache must be configured as such to mask the actual server hostname and port of the Oracle HTTP Server running on the Middletier.

Depending upon which type of Web Cache installation is done, configuration changes are done using either the AS Console or the Web Cache Manager. The AS Console is installed with a J2EE & Web Cache type installation, whereas only the Web Cache Manager GUI is installed with a Stand Alone Web Cache installation.
