FRM-41214 and REP-501 when connecting to Database 11g using "RUN_REPORT_OBJECT" (Doc ID 469013.1)

Symptoms

When running Reports from Forms using “RUN_REPORT_OBJECT”, the following errors occur:
REP-501: Unable to connect to the specified database.
FRM-41214: Unable to run report


Users connect to Forms successfully by entering Username/Password@DB in the Forms default login
screen.


Issue occurs with all reports, but only when connecting to an 11g database.

OR

When running the command EXEC_SQL.OPEN_CONNECTION('user/pwd@db_alias'); an ORA-306500 error is thrown when connecting to the 11g database, but not when connectiing to earlier versions of the database.
