Purpose

You will find that certain menu or toolbar items that are available in unsealed Microsoft Office files are grayed out in sealed documents. This note aims to provide an explanation, where possible, of each item in detail and why it has been excluded.

Scope

This note is intended for IT staff who want to know detailed reasons for the exclusion of certain Microsoft Office menu items. It presumes a good knowledge of Office functionality and also of general security policy.
