Symptoms

When performing an advanced search and using the '&IsSoap=1' parameter on the search results page; the following error is seen in FireFox:
"XML Parsing Error: not well-formed"

If the same search is performed in Internet Explorer, the following JavaScript error is thrown:

Error: An invalid character was found in text content.
