Purpose
Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) natively supports SAP iDoc interfaces for bi-directional interaction with SAP systems with the two OdiSAPAleServer and OdiSAPAleClient tools.
This document applies to SAP JCo versions 3.x, and targets those software engineers installing the SAP Java Connector (JCo) and is intended to assist in:
- Determining if the Java Connector has been correctly installed... or otherwise,
- Determining which Libraries are missing or are incorrectly set in the Java path...
It functionally imitates the JCA (Java Connector Architecture) but has some known implementation differences and is not fully JCA compliant.
However, JCo can be used as a bridge between Java software applications (such as ODI) and the core SAP R3 systems.
The use of SAP with ODI requires the installation of JCo (SAP's Java Connector), for which the installation guidelines differ from one operating system to another one.
As SAP JCo software implementations are different on Windows and Unix, you first are required to acquire the appropriate version of JCo from SAP's service marketplace. Ensure to select the most current applicable connector for your need:
