Symptoms
Using SQL Developer 1.5.1 or above in Production and debugging a procedure in a remote database raises error in the debugging-log tab:
ERROR
Connecting to the database <databasename>.
Executing PL/SQL: ALTER SESSION SET PLSQL_DEBUG=TRUE
Executing PL/SQL: CALL DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP.CONNECT_TCP( '<........> '57936' )
ORA-30683: failure establishing connection to debugger
ORA-12560: TNS:proto adapter error
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP", line 68
ORA-06512: at line 1
