Graceful Stop of HTTP Server Process Failed With the Error "hardstop: httpd (no pid file) not running" Due to PidFile Directive Mis-match (Doc ID 727727.1)

Stopping the HTTP Server using OPMN results in a time out (after about 10 minutes) and the remaining process has to be killed manually.

opmnctl: stopping opmn and all managed processes...
0 of 1 processes stopped.


--> Process (pid=3659)
time out while waiting for a managed process to stop

opmnctl: graceful stop of processes failed, trying forceful shutdown...

The HTTP_Server~1 shows a PID file problem:

08/07/07 18:05:34 Stop process
/opt/oracle/ias/Apache/Apache/bin/apachectl hardstop: httpd (no pid file) not running
