Application Access Restricted to Internal Workspace Users (Doc ID 732665.1)

Oracle Application Express (APEX) - Version 3.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Most likely can occur on earlier APEX versions but seems to be more common on 3.0 and above. Seems to occur when APEX is being accessed by more than one browser type such as both IE and Firefox.


Symptoms

The problem may occur after an upgrade or when one cannot login.   The most common scenario is:

1. Cannot login to APEX as the APEX Administrator.

2. Run apxchpwd.sql  to change to new password.

3.  Attempt to login again but receive following notification:

"Access denied by Application security check" and "Application access restricted to internal workspace users."

The problem may occur after an upgrade.  It may occur when APEX is being accessed by more than one browser type, such as both IE and Firefox.
