Symptoms

When configuring the PDF Printing with either BI_Publisher or Apache FOP with ApEx 3.x, large reports will error out with different errors. Smaller pdf reports work fine. When trying to print a large PDF you may see:

1. The contents of the PDF contains:

Internal Server Error Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.

2. An alert showing the following if report is viewed as an attachment:

Acrobat could not open '<name.pdf>' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF.

3. An alert may be seen if report is viewed inline:

There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.
