"User logon already exists with a different SID" Error Message Occurs When Accessing IPM Process Tools

When logging into a production client and attempting to access Process related tools (Inbox, Worklist, Map Viewer, etc), the following error message is shown:

Error Adding\Updating User 'username', UserId: xxx, UserLogon: '\\domain\username', SID: 'S-x-x-xx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxx'. User logon already exists with a different SID.


The system has likely either been moved across domains, or some other changes have been made to security.
