"ODI-40843: No DTD found and no XML file provided" Or "file could not be found" When Trying To Reverse Engineer A Remote File With ODI

Symptoms

Given a File Technology Data Server defined in ODI Topology Manager > Physical Architecture and pointing to a file hosted on a remote machine/server.

Although the connection is successfully tested from ODI Topology Manager with an Agent running on the remote machine, the standard reverse engineering fails with one of the following messages:

"ODI-40843: No DTD found and no XML file provided"

or

The directory ... specified in your schema does not exist

or

The file could not be found
