Symptoms

When installing an OracleAS 10.1.3 SOA Suite against a virtual hostname the SOA Suite configuration assistants can fail. For example, the Oracle Web Services Inspection Language Configuration Assistant fails with the following error:

Launched configuration assistant 'Oracle Web Services Inspection Language Configuration Assistant'
Tool type is: Recommended.
The command being spawned is: '<ORACLE_HOME>/ant/bin/ant -buildfile
<ORACLE_HOME>/webservices/lib/wsil-install.xml -logfile
<ORACLE_HOME>/cfgtoollogs/wsil.txt -DHOST=primary_hostname -DOPMNPORT="6004"
-DADMIN_USER=oc4jadmin -DOPMNINSTANCE=home -Denv.JAVA_HOME=<ORACLE_HOME>/jdk
-Denv.ANT_HOME=<ORACLE_HOME>/ant -Denv.ORACLE_HOME=<ORACLE_HOME> *Protected value, not to be logged*'

Start output from spawned process:
Buildfile: <ORACLE_HOME>/webservices/lib/wsil-install.xml

End output from spawned process.
Configuration assistant "Oracle Web Services Inspection Language Configuration Assistant" failed
Buildfile: <ORACLE_HOME>/webservices/lib/wsil-install.xml

Result code for launching of configuration assistant is: 1

Changes

There are two NIC cards setup on this machine and the installation must be done against the second NIC card using a virtual name, instead of the default hostname.
