Last updated on JUNE 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Workshop for Weblogic - Version 9.1 to 10.3 [Release Weblogic Platform to AS10gR3]
Oracle WebLogic Portal - Version 8.1 to 8.1 [Release Weblogic Platform]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

WebLogic Workshop Portal page property editor (pppe) does not completely remove
the backing file entry from the '.portal' xml file, causing errors to be thrown
in the server log file. On removal of the class name from the backing
file field in the pppe, an empty value is stored as backingFile="".

The error thrown is:

####<Oct 18, 2003 4:13:12 AM MDT> <Error> <netuix> <portalServer> <ExecuteThread: '13' for
queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default'> <> <> <BEA-420057> <The backing class could not be found.>
