This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
In Reports 10gR2 on UNIX When attempting to run a report with a XML based query the following error occurs:
ERROR
REP--866648059: Error in the XML report definition at line 2 in '/<path>/test.xml'
-- Steps To Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create in Reports Builder a report xml based query, specify the XSD (DTD) and XML files to use
2. Run the report on the server side using rwservlet URL:
https://<hostname>/reports/rwservlet?report=testxml.rdf+destype=cache+desformat=PDF+CUSTOMIZE=/<path>/test.xml
3. See error REP--866648059: Error in the XML report definition at line 2, instead of the expected output
Note that the report runs fine inside Reports Builder using Paper and Web Layouts
