Missing Result For Type=Cache, service=NonBackedUpDistributedCache Errors (Doc ID 785008.1)

Last updated on MARCH 03, 2009

Applies to:

Oracle Coherence - Version: 3.3.1 to 3.4.1
This problem can occur on any platform.

After upgrading from Coherence 3.1.3 to Coherence 3.4.1, a large number of error messages are logged by an application. They are of the form:

2009-02-05 18:00:00,000, ERROR [STDERR] 2009-02-05 18:00:00.000/20336.428 Oracle Coherence GE 3.4.1/407 <Error> (thread=Invocation:Management, member=4): Missing result for type=Cache,service=NonBackedUpDistributedCache,name=
MatchMarkets,nodeId=2,tier=front,loader=1073075865 from Member(Id=2, Timestamp=2009-02-05
12:28:36.52, Address=, MachineId=2735,,machine:host10,process:12648, Role=JavaLangThread)

These errors are huge -- they take ~4GB/hour. The errors are not logged on all servers, but only those exposing very specific functionality, which suggests the error is related to a code path executed only when accessing that functionality.
