Symptoms

You are attempting to set up client certificate authentication via Single Sign On  (SSO) for a web service.

SSO (OracleAS 10.1.2) is configured for certificate authentication according to:

<Note 351339.1> Primary Note: How To Configure SSO with Digital and PKI

The web service is deployed to Oracle AS 10.1.3.

When you protect the web service HTTP port via mod_osso.conf, you are able to access the web service endpoint interface with the browser, both IE (certificate is installed into browser) or Firefox (entering login and password, no certificate installed).  When you click "Invoke" on the web service, you get:

You are able to call web methods by turning off SSO protection.

How should you protect the web service to allow only SSO authenticated users to invoke methods?
Is there an API for programmatic SSO authorization for web services within the iAS 10.1.2.web service code stack?
