Coherence 3.4 JMX throws Noclassdeffounderror with JDK 1.4

Symptoms

Upon upgrading to Coherence 3.4.2, cache servers running on JDK 1.4.2 began producing an error:

  java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/management/MalformedObjectNameException
