Hyphen in Folder Name Causes 500 Error Page - MS ISC Server - Deep Packet Inspection Firewall (Doc ID 815293.1)

Last updated on JULY 28, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Universal Content Management - Version: 7.5.1 to 10.1.3.3.4
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

When using Content Server Folders, accessing a folder with a hyphen in the name causes an Http 500 error page.   This only happens when the folder is accessed from an external network or some filtering device is between the user's browser and the web-server.  The error does not occur when the folder is accessed from the local network or by direct connection to the web server.

Changes

Adding a network filtering (protection) device such as a firewall, proxy server, load balancer, etc.  It can also be caused by changing the settings of the above devices.
