How To Find The Host Name And OS User Name of The Machine Where The OWB Remote Control Center Service Is Started (Doc ID 823873.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2022

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document describes how to find the host name and the O/S username where the remote Control Center Service or Runtime Service is started.

The Control Center Service can be started in any machine where OWB is installed.

Generally it will be started on the database Server machine. If for some reasons the Runtime/Control Center Service is started from the Client or some other machine, then starting the service either on the Server or from other machine will fail. So the Service has to be stopped to start the Service from the Server.

If the Service is started from the remote client PC, then you will not be able to stop it using the stop_service.sql script. In this case, you will have to identify the Client machine where to stop the Service.
