OID Self Service Console Link Redirects to Incorrect OHS Port from Application Server Console (Doc ID 843837.1)

Last updated on JUNE 30, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 10.1.2.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Application Server 10g Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.1.2.3.0

Symptoms

Accessing the Oracle Application Server Control Console.  Trying to invoke OIDDAS from the console Home Page by navigating to:

--> OID --> Oracle Internet Directory Self Service Console

The following error message is displayed:

When the URL that is invoked is checked it is seen that the OIDDAS application is requested using the wrong Oracle HTTP Server port.

If Oracle HTTP Server is running on port 80 (http://<host>), then OIDDAS is invoked on a different port.

http://<host>:7777/oiddas

Changes

The issue occurs if a change has been made to the Oracle HTTP Server port and the underlying Metadata held in Oracle Internet Directory for the OIDDAS URL has not been updated at the same time.

e.g. for the case described above.

Oracle HTTP Server was installed originally using port 7777.  The port was subsequently changed to port 80, but the OIDDAS Metadata was not updated, so remains using 7777.
