Symptoms

When updating a content item metadata that is stored in a Collaboration Project, users can select the following option in the Browsing window that is displayed by clicking "Browse" button next to Folder text field.

Maintain existing access lists.
Adopt access lists of destination folder.

Collaboration Manager User Guide 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.3.1) describes about the "Adopt access lists of destination folder" option as follows:

Enabling this changes the access permissions for the folder or content item to those of the destination folder.

However, the "Adopt access lists of destination folder" option does not work as described in expected.  Even though the option is selected and updated, the access permissions  that are defined in the selected folder are not applied to the content.
