Last updated on SEPTEMBER 12, 2023

Applies to:

Web Cache - Version 10.1.2.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

Starting up the Web Cache Admistrator process in Oracle Application Server 10g results in a timeout and eventual failure to come up. Following errors are seen in the event_log for Web Cache:

This server has 6 installations of OAS with 6 different owners. All other components come up in this installation and the other 5 installations without a problem.

Changes

This problem just began after the IP address on the server changed. The chgiphost.sh script was executed for all 6 installations. The strace output reveals Webcache Admin for 2 different installations/owners to be using the same shared memory key.
